How it all began

Our love story began in San Francisco, in 2017. We met online and quickly decided to get together for a drink after work!

Nick arrived early to secure the optimal seating arrangement, but the only available option was a small leather loveseat near the door. It could not have gone better! Squeezed together on that tiny couch, the two got to know each other while the Hyde Street Cable Car rattled past. Nick immediately felt like family to Natalie, while Nick thought this beautiful and driven woman might be out of his league!

Four months later, Natalie invited Nick to her brother Kevin’s wedding. While initially intimidated (there are A LOT of Carlsteads), Nick passed the high-stakes test with flying colors! A golf-loving family, half of the clan showed up to watch Nick tee off the morning before the wedding. His perfectly struck tee shot solidified familial approval!

A few weeks later, Nick put Natalie through a less obvious, but no less important test: dinner with his sister Katie Long. Wanting the evening to go well, Nick brought the ladies to Flour + Water; wine & pasta (gluten-free of course) go a long way with these two women. As the wine and conversation flowed, it was obvious that Natalie was the missing member of the family! 

The last three and a half years have been filled with adventure, friends, family, and, of course, great food & wine! We’ve explored Europe, mastered California’s wine country, and driven the entire Pacrific Coast of the US.  We’re ready for this next chapter to begin!

In 2019, while celebrating Thanksgiving in Colorado with the Carlsteads, Nick got down on one knee and popped the question!

After two years, a global pandemic and our first home purchase together, we can’t wait to finally say, ‘I Do!!’
